How is this for scary.

I purchased new ranch in early 2005...cost basic cost $ 269,000 including lot, my finished cost was 293,000 ish

Current basic cost from same developer $ 220,000 including lot and he has many lots with an equivalent finished cost is now $244,000

I got a small reduction in value last year but this year they have increased the value to $287,600

So it over 17% over valued...not allowing for the fact that a new home has new fittings, carpets and white goods etc...and they cannot even sell them at this reduced price.

Even worse the lowest price, for new smaller lower quailty homes on the development has been dropped to $160,000 from $220,00 nearly 30% thus reducing the quality and desirability of the area.

I appealed last year on the basis that the developer was building the exact same ranch for 10% less.....this year they are over 20% cheaper and still not selling.

My valuation was raised about 7% bu the district valuer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The word fraud comes to my mind......

They should use the correct valuations and then raise the taxes in an honest fashion.....if they get voted out it is because they have been profligate in the past!!!!!

Bill is correct. Our government (local, state and without a doubt FEDERAL) is completely out of touch with it's citizens. I have spent 20 years as a public employee and can attest that government spends our tax dollars as if there is no tomorrow. How about police agencies buying the most expensive and gas guzzling cars on the road as cruisers? Politicians voting huge raises for themselves? The political buddy system bailing out their former co-workers on Wall St. as we get stuck with the bill. This is a nightmare. This crap needs to end now. We need serious change at every level. I hope that everyone joins me in electing Bill.

Many of the senators who protected Fannie and Freddie, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Christopher Dodd, have received mind-boggling levels of financial support from them over the years.
